TEAM NATURAL; BEGINNERS GUIDE

We keep hearing team natural, what does it really mean?
Simple put, Natural hair can be defined as relaxer free hair. While some people have embraced this journey years back, some others just don't want to hear about it. Sadly I used to be in the latter group a short while back. I was quick to dismiss any discussion about it because relaxer has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. We get our hair permed so early in life then that becomes all we know.
We make excuses as to why we can't go natural; you hear things like

Oh my hair is too stubborn
I can't have that much patience for my hair
I don't want to look unkept
I heard its very expensive to maintain.......

While these sounds valid, they are mostly excuses because there are ways around it.
I watched people close to me start while I was still holding on to my chemical damaged hair, I got to a point where I had to help myself, my edges were crying for help, I tried different products to grow my edges but it felt like the hair line was going further inside lol Then I decided to stop using relaxers  for a few months and then the result is what lead to this new found natural journey of mine.

Contrary to popular opinions that African hair is untidy and needs to be corrected by the use of relaxers, Our Natural hair is actually beautiful if well taken care of. Our hair is bold and so should we.
WHO SHOULD GO NATURAL
There's no right answer to this question because every woman have the right to choose what to do with their hair. However, if your hair is severely damaged there's no need holding on to it and if you are still contemplating, I hope this helps you make up your mind today to go natural and grow healthy hair I mean, what do you have to loose? Its just hair and you can always go back to relaxed hair if you wish.

MUST HAVES IF YOU WANT TO GO NATURAL
1. Invest in a few wigs (you will need it).
2. Be ready to Accessorize more to compliment your new look. (Bold earrings)
3. Makeup Makeup Makeup! You don't want to walk around looking like somebody's brother lol (kidding) but then this is a drastic look change having always had long and permed hair, Makeup will definitely help your face pop to go with your coils.

    1. First products I bought were shea butter and coconut oil. These two can actually serve till you want to go further. You can also buy Shampoo(sulphate free) and conditioner and that's it for a start.
